The Role
As the Workshop Manager, you will be the go-to expert overseeing the day-to-day operation of a busy, well-equipped workshop. You’ll play a hands-on role, managing maintenance schedules, prioritising vehicle upkeep, and supporting a small team to achieve high standards.
Responsibilities
- Take charge of a fleet of 20 primarily Volvo vehicles, ensuring all maintenance and inspections are up to date
- Oversee in-house maintenance work, with a focus on fridge trailers and related machinery
- Manage your own time efficiently, balancing hands-on work with team leadership
- Maintain accurate records and support compliance with relevant safety regulations
- Liaise with external providers where required (e.g. for inspections and technical support)
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience managing a busy vehicle workshop, ideally with Volvo vehicles
- Strong hands-on skills and technical expertise in vehicle maintenance, especially fridge trailers
- Proactive approach to problem solving, time management, and team leadership
- Ability to maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency
- Comfortable working both independently and with others to get the job done
